Windy Creek Farm
Windy Creek Farm is a farm in South Dakota used for hunting, gathering with friends, and training dogs. The farm is owned by Jack and Jan Heim of Summit, NJ but could not be kept operating without the help of long time friend Doug Wenger. Doug and Jack worked together for 20 years in the Cable industry and learned early on that they had a common love for rural America and hunting and fishing. Doug and wife Georgeanne spend weeks at the farm vacationing, painting and generally fixing.
Our Neighbors Lyle and Lori Vakiner keep the farm clean, and oversee all planting, grazing, and harvesting and have become close friends.
Special thanks for having the farm must be given to Eddie and Alice Shaffer who found it for us, helped build it and kept it going for many years and to Dale Fields for many hours of help ( especially old fence removal).
Pictures and comments about our many other friends and family will show up throughout this site. We love bird dogs so you’ll see information about all of our dogs. You will also see an emphasis on Tournament Hunting. It has become one of our passions.
