A Good Day Pheasant Hunting
Windy Creek friend and Northstar Inn proprietor Ray Bokker joined Jack Heim for a late December Pheasant hunt in Dallas, South Dakota. Jack and Ray hunting with Ray’s Lab Mocca and Jack’s two Britts had a great day and limited out quickly.

In early November three generations of Heims traveled to Boulder, Colorado to attend the CU – Texas A&M game. After watching Colorado’s exciting come from behind victory we drove to Windy Creek for our annual Pheasant hunt. The trip marked the 1st visit to the farm for 7 month old Charlotte (Charlie) Rose Heim. Jason and Jack had a great time hunting; we all had a great time showing off Charlie and trying out recipes from the Taggart family cookbook.
Craig Steinbach of Fly-n-Gun Kennels and Jack
Craig Steinbach of Fly-n-Gun Kennels visited the farm in late October to prepare for the World Championships later that month in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He brought his full “chain gang” of dogs including Windy Creeks’ Annie and Dusty. Emphasis was put on handling, retrieving, and doubles teamwork. The extra training paid off with three top finishes for Steiny. He won Top Gun singles with Jamie Palmers’ dog Trigger and put Annie in 2nd in singles and Dusty in 2nd in doubles. A great tournament!
